On my recent visit to Stamford, Connecticut, I stopped by Six Thirteen, a kosher modern bistro located at 108 Prospect Street. The restaurant offers a range of craft beer and cocktails as well as sushi and meat dishes. It has a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace inside and a shaded patio for outdoor seating.

The name "Six Thirteen" is a reference to the 613 mitzvot, or commandments, in the Torah, which are the cornerstone of Jewish law and tradition. These commandments guide everything from moral conduct to religious practices, making them integral to Jewish life. By adopting this name, the restaurant highlights its dedication to kosher laws, which are among these commandments. It symbolizes a deep connection to Jewish values while presenting a modern dining experience. The blend of tradition with contemporary flair is at the heart of Six Thirteen, offering a space that honors its heritage while appealing to a diverse clientele.
