“With a founder who has a deep understanding of culinary excellence and a commitment to high-quality ingredients, this restaurant stands out in the fast-food landscape of Tel Aviv.”
Memphis Burger was founded by Rabbi Ori Melamed, a former food critic for the Israeli newspaper Makor Rishon. Motivated by the lack of kosher hamburger joints in Tel Aviv, Melamed decided to open a place where he and his family could enjoy high-quality burgers. The restaurant emphasizes freshly ground meat without additives, homemade sauces, and toppings, and also offers vegan options.
My beef burger was cooked to perfection and when I closed my eyes, I felt like I was back in the U.S. Among the many Memphis Burger options, the Vegetarian Burger stands out with its combination of caramelized onions, grilled Portobello mushroom, homemade tomato sauce, purple onion, lettuce, and an egg, all served in a bun. For meat lovers, the Sloppy Joe is a tempting choice, featuring premium ground beef in spicy tomato sauce, accompanied by lettuce, purple onion, and sweet chili, also served in a bun. Another highlight is the Memphis Entrecote Sandwich, which includes slices of entrecote with fried onions and spicy peppers, topped with an egg, homemade tomato sauce, purple onion, and lettuce.
The Memphis Chicken Breast and Louisiana Chicken Breast both offer a poultry alternative, each served with a unique blend of spices and homemade sauce, along with caramelized onions, purple onion, tomato, and lettuce. For those seeking a vegan option, there's a Vegan Burger which offers a plant-based patty that is juicy and flavorful, served in a bun with lettuce, purple onion, and tomato.
For sides, you can choose from individual salads, onion rings, home fries, sweet potato fries, and a mix of fries. The Memphis Premium Salad is a healthier option, consisting of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red/yellow peppers, julienne carrots, with a soy vinaigrette, topped with grilled Portobello mushroom and caramelized onions, and can also be served with entrecote. For younger guests, the Kids Menu offers a burger and schnitzel, both accompanied by fries and a drink, ensuring that even the little ones have something to enjoy.
The comprehensive menu at Memphis Burger caters to a wide range of tastes, ensuring that everyone, from meat lovers and vegetarians to kids, can find something to their liking.
