“Ember Kosher Restaurant in Cancun offers a diverse menu that caters to a variety of tastes, all within a kosher framework.”
Cancun, known primarily as a tourist destination with its stunning beaches and resorts, also has a growing Jewish community. There are several Jewish institutions including synagogues, a Jewish community center, and educational facilities.
The Jewish community caters not only to locals but also to a significant number of Jewish tourists who visit Cancun every year. As a top tourist destination, Cancun attracts visitors from all over the world, including those from countries with large Jewish populations such as the United States, Canada, Israel, and parts of Europe. During peak tourist seasons, such as holidays and summer months, the number of Jewish visitors increases substantially.
As I walked into Ember Kosher, I felt very welcomed by the staff. I really liked the modern and dark tones of restaurant's interior design. I looked forward to seeing the menu.
For starters, Ember Kosher presents a variety of appetizers. Options range from Glazed Duck with Asian vegetables and a Vietnamese sauce to a Beef Tongue Carpaccio dressed with capers. Each appetizer is meticulously plated, providing a range of options for different tastes.
To start, I decided to have the Ember Tacos, which included corn beef barbacoa with a side of onion, coriander, lemon, and both green and red sauces. These tacos offered a hearty and satisfying taste of local flavors with a kosher twist. In addition to tacos, I also tried the Chicken Schnitzel, served with fries. The schnitzel was well-prepared with a crispy exterior, complemented by the simple side of fries.
The restaurant's menu boasts an extensive selection, from Mexican Chicken Flautas to the Tuna Zabaione. Salads are also available, with the Ember Salad standing out with its quinoa, mango, and avocado.
The soup options included the traditional Aztec Soup with avocado and tortilla chips, and a Mushroom Soup. These can be a lighter start to a meal or serve as a comforting dish on their own.
In the fish section, the Filo Pastry Salmon and the Sesame Grouper Filet, are noteworthy mentions for their creative sauces and side dishes.
Pasta lovers have a large selection as well. I’m told that the Meat Bolognese is very popular. Additionally, poultry dishes are well-represented with options like Lemon Chicken and Grilled Chicken Breast.
Side dishes and extra orders allow for customization of meals, with items like the Mediterranean Vegetables or an extra portion of Schnitzel.
Ember Kosher Restaurant in Cancun offers a diverse menu that caters to a variety of tastes, all within a kosher framework. The prices are as varied as the dishes, ensuring that there is something for everyone, whether one is looking for a simple chicken dish or a more complex fish entrée.
I really enjoyed my meal and was planning to return during my stay in Cancun. However, since I had to cut my trip short earlier than expected, I didn’t have a chance to eat there again. I hope to be back again in Cancun soon and enjoy another delicious meal at Ember Kosher.
