During a visit to Jerusalem, Israel, I had the pleasure of dining at Lechem Basar, a renowned kosher meat restaurant located at The First Station, or "Tachana Rishona" in Hebrew. I’ve also been to their branch at the Tel Aviv Port, which was a different yet also satisfying experience.

Located in the heart of The First Station, Lechem Basar's Jerusalem branch offers a delightful blend of historical charm and modern dining. The First Station, a repurposed train station, provides a unique backdrop, combining the old-world architecture with contemporary touches.

“Whether you're a local or a tourist, a visit to this iconic location, and particularly to Lechem Basar, is a must for anyone seeking a taste of Jerusalem's culture and cuisine.”

Lechem Basar is celebrated for its kosher meat offerings. The menu is an ode to high-quality meats, prepared with a flair that showcases both traditional and innovative approaches. My meal started with an appetizer of freshly baked bread, a nod to the restaurant's name, which translates to "Meat and Bread."

The appetizers include sirloin carpaccio, roast beef, red tuna sashimi, and more. Main courses feature diverse meat options like chicken & lamb arayes, lamb siniyah, entrecote steak, and sirloin steak. There's also a kids' menu with simpler options. Desserts and a selection of cold and hot beverages are available. Additionally, they offer a business lunch menu with a variety of choices.

My previous visit to the Tel Aviv Port branch of Lechem Basar offered a similar level excellence. However, the ambiance at The First Station added a unique historical dimension that enriched the overall experience.

After my meal, I explored The First Station. This historic site has been transformed into a vibrant hub for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The blend of the old train station elements with modern facilities creates a fascinating atmosphere.

The area is home to a variety of shops and boutiques, offering everything from local crafts to fashionable attire. The First Station also hosts a range of cultural events, performances, and art exhibitions, making it a lively spot throughout the day.

For families, The First Station offers children's play areas and rides, making it an ideal destination for visitors of all ages.

The First Station has many restaurant choices. Lechem Basar is great spot to enjoy delicious food with friends or family. The First Station offers a window into Jerusalem's past while providing modern comforts and entertainment. Whether you're a local or a tourist, a visit to this iconic location, and particularly to Lechem Basar, is a must for anyone seeking a taste of Jerusalem's culture and cuisine.
